The count down has begun

Hooooohoooooo, merry belated Christmas BVs, am sure you all would be wondering why the long silence. Well that na gist for another day.

Anyways on 25th December 2015 as early as 5.30am, i put a call across to all my loved ones and i holla the hooohoooo merry Christmas to everyone ; you need to hear the excitment from the other end of the conversation.

Christmas is a wonderful period for sharing, showing love and being with loved ones. A lot of activities always accompany this period with a chilly weather if you stay in areas prone to harmattan here in Nigeria.

Churches organise Christmas drama and Carol nights with everyone dressing to the occasion (green, red and hold attires with varities of christmas head wares) This amongst others makes December a very unique period in the year. Aside the celebrations, it's also a time were a lot of people take out time to reflect on the outgoing year, their achievements, mistakes, lessons learnt and progress made.

Now my beloved readers today being the 30th December 2015, is a day to the end of 2015. Have you taken out time to reflect on the outgoing year or you are waiting for the usual "church" retreat before you take out time  to do the needful?

Well, as we begin the count down to 2016, take out time before 11.59pm 31st Dec 2015 to take a stock of the  year and appreciate God no matter where you are or what you have and thank him for being alife.

Lessons from the life of an eagle.

Have you ever seen an eagle soaring round the sky? Well I bet most people would respond that they rarely see the eagle. The reason being that the eagle has a class of its own and it's admired by all. It also symbolises power, freedom and transcendence. They posses unique characteristics that we can learn from and these included

A. Vision: they have specially designed eyes for long distance focus and clarity. We must have vision about the future, which guided and leads us towards our personal goals.

B. Fearlessness: Eagles will never surrender to the size of strength of its prey. To be successful, we must be fearless and face out problems head on without giving in to depression or discouragement.

C. Tenancity: they take advantage of every storm that lesser birds fear and hide for cover for. When we are faced with lots of challenges, instead of hiding or running from it, let's face it head on as it leads us to rise to greater heights.

D. Eagles are flyers and do not mingle with pigeons. Dr Myles Munroe said pigeons grumble and complain all day long but the eagle fly and make less noise , wait it for opportunities to strike their next prey or glide with the current of the storm. In the face of difficulties, let's find opportunities in it.

E. Eagles do not eat dead meat but fresh meat from the prey it kills itself. To grow , spend time with people who are vibrant and libral in thinking and she's off low lifers around you.

F . Vitality: At the age of to, an eagle 'd physical body condition deteriorates fast, making it difficult for them to survive. Instead of giving in, the eagle retreats to a mountain top and over a period of 6 months, it knocks off it's been by banging it against a rock, plucking off it's feathers and shedding off it's body parts for newer and stronger ones to grow out. This process allows the eagle to live for another 30 to 4p years.

There are times we need to go on retreats and cut off from every noise and distractions and spend time meditating and seeking to know God's plan for our lives.

How placed the eagle for us to learn a lesson from them , so we don't have an excuse why we are not succeeding . As the year comes to an and, find the time to go on a retreat to refresh every thing about you before you enter the New year.

Just stumbled on this article n thought to share with married friends.

My name is Dayo. I’m a typical Nigerian guy and I cherish my Fridays a lot; I get to hang out with the sickest guys every Friday night and secondly, It’s another escape from my nagging and boring wife. I get confused sometimes on whether she’s my mother or my wife. Don’t get it twisted; I love her pieces. It just gets complicated; like I wish we never got married…marriage has turned her into something that doesn’t amuse me. I wish she was still the adventurous, charming, high spirited lady I dated for five years.

A lot of people say its unethical for married guys to be found in a club, but I wish everyone won’t be too quick to judge and understand that people look for fun to run away from their problems; they just want to breathe, like me.

I forgot to say that I work in Guarantee Trust Bank along Lekki, I love my job and my job loves me, maybe its because I’m the senior banking officer. Lol. This particular morning, a lady breezed into my office. My heart raced faster because I had not sighted anything this beautiful in a long while. She wasn’t the typical slender Barbie, in fact, she was a bit chubby but her smile, cuteness and…I was tripped.

“Hi Good morning! Your ATM has swallowed my card!” She laughed, unlike a typical customer that would ram you.

I just tried to form Boss laughter…

“Good morning, You know what? I’d personally make sure they get it out for you, but not today. Can you wait till Monday?” I smiled

“GTB shaaa! OK, can I just drop my number so you could call me up or just text when its ready so I don’t come twice? Please? My name is Nancy” She blinked her eyes in a funny way.

“Sure” I smiled

We exchanged numbers. What a lucky Friday!

So it was 10:00pm and I headed to the club…as usual my friends were chilling for me. My wife had called a couple of times, I just ignored it. She knows I’m never home Friday nights.

“Look at you!” I heard someone say. I raised my head and it was the ATM lady-Nancy.

“Wow, look at you too!” I was surprised to see her but I was happy I didn’t have to wait till Monday to see her again.

“Happy Friday!” She screamed because of the noise, “Wanna dance?”

I didn’t even have the chance to answer, she already pulled me to dance floor. I really suck at dancing but she helped me; she was a great dancer! I had fun! At some point we decided to go to a private area and we talked, ranging from work, business to personal life. I tried to hide my ring as much as possible, I certainly didn’t want this to end now.

“You are a really wonderful lady. You are so interesting…any guy would want to be with you all day” I said.

“I wasn’t always like this but I have learned the hard way that life is just too short to be sad” she sang

Then her phone rang…

“Hey baby! Yeah I’m at the private lounge, I’d like you to meet someone…alright boo” she talked excitedly as usual.

I was in shock until this tall handsome man walks up to her and kisses her.

“You were late. Meet Dayo; I met him this morning, he’s helping with your ATM I told you got swallowed and Dayo this is my B to the O-O,” she laughed “Meet my husband Kolade, we only come here to dance every fortnight Friday; away from work, stress and kids.”

“Wow, a pleasure” I managed to shake him

Then she stood now excitedly holding her husband’s arms.

“Why don’t we invite Dayo for Mimi’s 16th birthday tomorrow?” Her husband said

They have kids too? How long have they been married and they look like a couple just dating!

“Silly me, please come for my second daughter’s 16th tomorrow. It would be an honor” She brought out an I.V from her purse.

I began to feel so ashamed of myself…this was another guy like me, getting it right with one woman.

I collected the I.V and promised to be there.

“See you tomorrow! Have you had something to eat Kolade?” she talked and dragged her husband along.

They left and I kept staring at the thin air like I had seen a ghost. They come just to dance together every fortnight Fridays? Why didn’t I think of that! Temi loves to dance…she also likes long walks, she loves to talk…she loves jazz music, there’s this vivid picture I have of me putting her hand on my chest when we danced at a jazz club on our first year anniversary…I found myself typing all the things I knew Temi loved to do on my I pad and I realized I had denied her of all…I had made her the old woman she acts.

What the hell was I doing here! I didn’t even tell my friends goodbye, I walked out of the club into my Jaguar. Temi’s call came through and I picked at first ring.

“Temi?” My heart raced

“I know you are not coming home…”

“I am, stay up so we can gist. Been a while” I decided to do everything on that list and to even add many more for the rest of my lifetime with her.

“Are you alright?” She was shocked I suppose

“And I’d like us to go for a birthday party tomorrow. I want you to meet this amazing couple”

“You sound different Dayo”

“Maybe I’m different”

“Don’t say it! don’t say it! when you come we will gist very well” she laughed

She laughed!!! In just that laughter that I hadn’t heard in a while, she sounded like the lady I married six years ago…

Dear reader,

I wrote this natural piece just to remind us that creating memorable moments with our partner matters. Do you know that little things are the sweetest things? Just creating time to gist and laugh with your partner, having a day in the week that’s exclusively for you both-No friends or kids allowed.

Lady, when last have you told your partner he is so darn hot? Guy! When last have you told your lady she is the sweetest thing? When last have you whispered ‘Thank you’? When last have you been quick to say ‘I’m sorry’?

Do you even have a clue on what your partner loves to do?

When you ignore little things, they are the little pieces of rocks that build up to become a mountain you can’t easily break down.

A grateful heart

Today at my church we had our end of year thanksgiving and it was awesome. People were dressed in their best to come and say thank you Lord.

In the midst of the paparazzi and show of thanks to God while dancing, I was reflecting back at a story in the bible that talks of the ten lepers. Now after they had being healed, nine of them didnt see the need to go back and say thank you ; but one did and he was the one that remebered where his help came from.

Dear visitors have you remembered to say thank you to that person who helped you at your lowest moments this year? What about your family , friends and associates. As we gradually wrap up this year,  reflect back on those people who has helped you and put that call across or pay a visit just to say thank you.

A grateful heart never lacks . Now come join me as I dance and celebrate God for all he has done for me. "dancing ...na Godwin"

AM SORRY

Humans were created to be different in their behaviour and personalities, which is why you can never find two people behaving the same way but in these diversities, we all fall short of each other's expectations, thereby offending and hurting one another.

You and i have being hurt by people we hold so dear to our hearts and at times the hurt is so deep, we do not want to let go or forgive. We can over react over certain issues some times and decide to keep our distance but a brother once told me that no matter who is at fault, telling your partner "AM SORRY' not only makes you sort out a lot of  issues that would have gone wrong, it also puts you above the person and takes away the power of the other party from saying wrong things about you.  

Taking action instead of reacting is one of the steps of showing your sense of maturity. Maturity is proven when you apply what you have known and be the first to say AM SORRY.

A lot of people find it difficult to apologize but i have come to learn over time that there is power in apologizing. Your hurt may be justified by your actions but letting go of the hurt only shows the prisoner you thought was caged was actually you.

Uhmmm, you heard me right. So dear visitors, get off your high horse and call that person you hurt or hurt you and say AM Sorry. E hugs

Hey my people! some persons can lie for a country ooo, no be small thing. they over exaggerate issues either to boost their image or ruin another person's reputation or cover up their misdeeds.

Hmmmm, i have seen people lying so convincingly that you confuse the lie for truth. Men lie , women lie but what do you benefit from lying all the time? People lie about their where about on phone, they lie to their spouses and family members, they lie about their job, marital status, income and whatever BUT do i have to confirm from my wristwatch when you greet me good morning before you know your lies are too obvious to be ignored?

You need One million lies to back up one lie and at the end of everything, the truth would still standout. I would not tell you  that all liars would go to hell as you expect pastors to shove at your face but that your Integrity is highly questioned when you are known to always tell lies.

Paradise in a swamp

on August 31st while driving down from Wuse 2, i noticed a huge crowd looking down the overhead bridge. Underneath the bridge was found a wrecked jeep destroyed beyond repairs but my greatest amazement was what i discovered under that bridge. Therein lie another world. You never know such an economy exists even in the beautiful city of abuja.

Now this discovery made me reflect on the number of people living in unhealthy environments trying to find a living. its a different world on its own. My people, that is their paradise.

while i was gasping at the extent of the accident, i saw a woman busy at the other end of the bridge preparing food to sell to her customers while these prospects waited on her. Less than a minute from that angle, are a group of young men gathering sand from a flowing drainage and another arranging different items. All these were happening under the bridge. Hmm.. what a world we live in .

So dear readers always appreciate God for where ever you are.

ARE YOU GROWING?

If you went to primary and Junior secondary Schools at the time I did which, was in the early to middle nineties, you may have come across this acronym MR NIGER D which stands for Death, Respiration, Excretion, Growth, etc funny right? But I’m concerned more with the letter G, which is Growth.

We grow everyday especially physically except you have had a drink from the fabled fountain of youth (pirates of the Caribbean). If you observe closely you are a little bit or a whole different from how you where some 20years ago, 10 years ago, last year and even a month ago. These changes can be referred to as physical growth and we don’t stop growing till we die

My question is how many of us have really GROWN! In terms of Spiritually, Mentally, Relationship wise, and Career wise. If the difference between what you know now and what you knew a while back or even yesterday, is still the same, then it might be safe to assume that at the point you are, growth has stopped and that in itself is dangerous (likened to death).

I could choose to ramble and school us about growing, but that would be me being self-righteous. And since I am not, I’ll share this quote from a renowned leadership and growth teacher John Mason. It reads; To discover your purpose, you need to grow in self awareness. To become a better human being, you need to grow in character. To advance in your career you need to grow in your skills. To be a better spouse or parent, you need to grow in relationships. To reach your financial goals, you need to grow in knowledge about how money works. To enrich your soul, you need to grow spiritually.

Now the choice is yours, to keep GROWING or to ATROPHY (Die slowly) while you still live.

Positive thinking starts with self talk. These thoughts can be positive or negative . Some comes from logic and reason while others arise from misconceptions that you create because of lack of information. If our thoughts are mostly negative, our outlook on life is more likely pessimistic while a positive thinking is optimistic.

Benefits of positive thinking :
a. It increases life span .
b. Lowers rates of depression and levels of distress.
c.Better coping skills during hardships and times of stress.
d. Better psychological and physical well being

How to turn negative thinking to positive thinking .
1. Identify areas of change: identify areas of our life that you typically think negatively about whether it works. You can start small by focusing on how to approach issues in a more positive way.
2. Check your self: periodically stop and evaluate what you are thinking and find a way to spin a negative thought to a positive thought.
3. be open to humor : seek hunit in every day happening. When you laugh at life , you feel less stressed.
4. Surround your self with positive people: make sure those around you are positive people you can depend on to give helpful advice and feed back.
5. Practice positive self talk: don't say anything to yourself, you won't say to anyone else. Be gentle and encouraging to your self .

A positive attitude causes a chain of reaction of positive thoughts  events and outcomes. It is a catalyst and it sparks extra ordinary results . Wade Boggs .

Going  down memory lane , I remember that as young children, there were words we could not say because you would be regarded as wayward children. Then, the rate of sexual perversion was a bit curtailed and crime rate was not as hineous as it is now. These days , people talk about their sexual escapades without impunity and things that were meant to be heard only behind closed doors and for the ears of adults only is now discussed publicly.

I have heard Ladies talk about their sexual experiences like its a norm and married women advising friends whose husbands are busy and hardly around to engage in extra marital affairs without regards to their marital vows. A lot of people would say this is the jet age and people are more enlightened than they were before. But , I do know that whatever was not cuturally accepted before would not still be , no matter the level of exposure.

Sexual perversion as defined by Wikipedia is a type of human behavior that deviates from that which is understood to be normal. They could be abnormal, repulsive or obsessive. There are a whole lot of sexual perversion on going but I would list a few. They include masturbation, sodomy, homosexuality, lesbianism, transgender, pedophiles, bestiality, necrophilia, fetishes, sadomasochism, incest amongst others.

In as much as a whole lot of people want to be trendy, I strongly recommend we allow God's word create in us a heart that would trust and love God only and not allow the deceitful ness of this life away us away from his loving grace.

I woke up on Saturday at a friend 's house at about 5.30am and found her 13 years old daughter sweeping the floor. She proceeded to attending to the kitchen chores and later made breakfast. I was watching in unbelief knowing that children from very wealthy background are spoilt by thier parents who surround them with maids and nannies. I could not hold it back but ask my hostess why she does not have maids to take care of her children and the house? She told me she can't spoil her children all in the name of being wealthy and that the time she needed house helps was when they were still babies but now they must learn the basic chores especially the female children. Immediately my mind went to this scripture in Prov 22 vs 6 "train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it".

That encounter with that young lady teaches everyone out there not to spoil their children all in the name of " I don't want my children to suffer what I suffered". Do you know some young ladies have lost great husbands because they cannot put a simple meal together.

I have seen children who cannot carry their school bags themselves when going to school because the driver is supposed to carry it for them. We even have adults with nasty attitudes because that's how they were brought up.

I strongly recommend to parents to kindly allow thier children learn the basic home making habits and manners no matter the volume of wealthy they possess, so that these children don't end up encountering problems in the future.

On a softer note, my grand mother once asked my cousin whose wealthy father won't hear them get close to the kitchen to assist in fetching charcoal from a bag to enable her roast corn. The young lady replied " grandma, Pls what is charcoal?" Ha this na serious matter oooo.  Please parents wise up.

HEART CRIES 3

When ever I hear about the death of an individual , it puts me in a sober mood. No wonder the bible says it is better to be in the house of mourning than in the house of rejoicing. Sober reflection mood actually puts you back on check, knowing all Human struggles, pursuits, fame, cravings, accomplishments, desires, would all end the day you take your last breath. " hmm there is nothing in this life. All is vanity so says ecclesiastics".

We need to always remember that as each day passes by, so are we moving closer to the end point of life and as such, we need to live our lives as if it's the last and be careful how we treat people around us, the kind of life we live, the things we get involved with and many others. Rejoice with people who are rejoicing and celebrate other people's progress because in all you are learning a lesson or finding courage to move on through thier accomplishments.

Have you thought of making an impact in this generation or do you want to be like others who when it's their turn, would fizzle out as if they never walked past this earth? A friend put up a post on Facebook that we have 165 days as at today to the end of year 2015. Would you say your life has counted over these years or months ?

I crave your indulgence dear visitors, to reflect more on your life and strive to make an impact because your eulogy after you pass on would tell the world who you were.

Happy Sallah celebration to all Muslims out there. Am still waiting for my Sallah food oooo "winks" anyways as you celebrate, don't forget the less privileged who might not have enough to eat.

A lot has been said about water and how important it is but a lot of people tend to underestimate its relevance. For the past three days, some parts of Abuja has being experiencing water shortage due to a breakage of one of the major pipes supplying  water to that region affected and it has defiled all efforts made  by water board, thus resulting in Julius Berger being called to the rescue and yours truly happens to be in one of the affected areas.

Kai!! nothing works without water ooo. It looks and feels horrible to be without water. Due to this unpleasant experience, I like to share the importance of water. " how do people living in Areas without water cope self hmmmm"

In genesis 1vs 2c, we are told that the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. By implication, God is showing us that life is birthed from water.

Water as a substance is made up of hydrogen and oxygen in the ratio two to one and it covers over 70 percent of the earth's surface and is essential to all known forms of life. (Encyclopedia). We need water to drink ( though a lot of people avoid drinking water or drink less water , not knowing water cleanses your system and keeps your skin aglow), wash our hands, cook, water plants and so many other uses.

Whenever it rains, you see and feel the freshness all around you because of its life giving attributes. So dear visitors , never under estimate water's useful . Water don't have enemy , it's a friend to all.

I remember clearly in my final year when I had to read with other course mates of mine due to the  short time the semester went and the pressure we all faced to cover up our outlines for the exams.   During one of the reading sessions at about 2 am, we started hearing a loud sound echoing the entire reading hall. This caught the attention of everyone because it was so loud and irritating. Guess what! One of the guys reading with us had dozed off and started snoring like a generator turned on around my area. Lol. It was not funny ooo because the rest of us could not read again until we woke him up.

Snoring is becoming a norm especially amongst men. Snoring occurs when the air flows past relaxed tissues in your throat, causing the tissues to vibrate as you breathe, creating an intimidating sound. It also occurs when the muscles of your throat relax, your tongue falls back and your throat becomes narrow. As you breathe , the walls of the throat begins to vibrate and these vibrations leads to snoring.

It is also the hoarse or harsh sound that occurs when your breathing is partially obstructed in some way while your are sleeping. Snoring may indicate a serious health condition. It may occur nightly or intermittently. Persons most at risk are males and those who are overweight; though it is a problem of both genders. Snoring becomes more serious as people age and it can cause disruptions of your own sleep and that of your partner.

Factors that facilitates snoring includes
a. Aging : this leads to the relaxation of the throat muscles
b. Sleep position , like sleeping on your back.
c. Alcohol
d. Obesity

symptons includes noise during sleep , excessive daytime sleepiness, difficulty concentrating , sore throat, restless sleep , gasping/choking night, high blood pressure.

Treatments can be adjusting your sleeping position and life style , surgery on the back of the throat , roof of the mouth or nose and working on your weight to reduce fatness.

SECOND HALF

A lot raced through my mind as i thought of goals and plans to accomplish,  a whole lot of things occupied my thoughts of people who started this year with high hopes only to realize its the 30th day of June and just few hours to July 1st.

People are gradually loosing faith in themselves because the year seems to be running faster than they thought but they fail to realize that as players in a foot ball game disembark for a few minutes break before the second half whistle is blown, so also we need to take a break to restrategize on how to play for the second half.

My dearest, the beauty of transiting from first half to the second half is that you have being given a second chance to try again. I sent a message on the 1st of July to friends, encouraging them not to loose hope but have faith because the Lord would perfect all that concerns them and to affirm my words, i saw the rainbow displayed faintly across the sky yesterday and i smiled because God's promises are forever sure and he is not through with you and i yet.

The whistle for the second have being blown for you to take more steps and act .Don't keep doing same things if you desire a different result. Start acting and taking those steps no matter how small they might seem. Your set time to be favoured is here. Happy new month. E HUGS

SPITTING IN GOD'S FACE

For the past one week, a lot has being said concerning same sex marriage and incest, to make matters worse, some blasphemous pictures were posted displayed on Facebook, depicting two men kissing while hung on the cross. hmmmm this broke my heart.

By that picture, it finally dawn on me that the end is nearer than we ever thought. Imagine brothers, sisters and relations being intimate. gosh!!! so disgusting . Incest has being legalized in Germany because a government ethics  committee said " it is an unacceptable intrusion into the right to sexual self determination".

Another excerpts from Lizzie Dearden on 24th September 2014 stated thus " Germany's national ethics council has called for an end to the criminalization of Incest between siblings after examining the case of a man who had four children with his sister".

it is no longer news that on June 26th 2015, the US Supreme court ruled that the US constitution guarantees the right for same sex couples to marry in all 50 US states. Now i know some individuals would feel what's my own if people choose to live their lives as it pleases them. well, it wont be my concern until it extends to insulting the Almighty God. am not too surprised because all that is happening depicts a people living the script as prophesised inthe bible.

Rom 1: 26-32.

  Worse followed. Refusing to know God, they soon didn’t know how to be human either—women didn’t know how to be women, men didn’t know how to be men. And then they paid for it, oh, how they paid for it—emptied of God and love, godless and loveless wretches.

^28-32 Since they didn’t bother to acknowledge God, God quit bothering them and let them run loose. And then all hell broke loose: rampant evil, grabbing and grasping, vicious backstabbing. They made life hell on earth with their envy, wanton killing, bickering, and cheating. Look at them: mean-spirited, venomous, fork-tongued God-bashers. Bullies, swaggerers, insufferable windbags! They keep inventing new ways of wrecking lives. They ditch their parents when they get in the way. Stupid, slimy, cruel, cold-blooded. And it’s not as if they don’t know better. They know perfectly well they’re spitting in God’s face. And they don’t care—worse, they hand out prizes to those who do the worst things best!

2 Tim 3:1-5 

Don’t be naive. There are difficult times ahead. As the end approaches, people are going to be self-absorbed, money-hungry, self-promoting, stuck-up, profane, contemptuous of parents, crude, coarse, dog-eat-dog, unbending, slanderers, impulsively wild, savage, cynical, treacherous, ruthless, bloated windbags, addicted to lust, and allergic to God. They’ll make a show of religion, but behind the scenes they’re animals. Stay clear of these people.

Hmmmmm my people, i just hope people propagating this wrong gospel would retrace their steps and stop spitting in God's face. A word is enough for the wise.

BVN wahala

Dear readers, We all know the craze for bank verification number has being hyped by everyone especially as the dead line being 30th June 2015 draws closer. Well, yours sincerely got her BVN since January but didn't know I had to visit my other banks where I also have accounts and only got to know when my bank sent me a mail to update my BVN.

Well I decided to take my number to one of my banks only to be greeted by a mamout crowd. I was wowed by the number of people I saw scrambling to get theirs and I wonder why they had to wait this long before doing theirs. Well naija last minute rush mentality I guess.

People where cursing themselves and tempers were rising . One of the persons in the crowd almost cursed me out when I by passed the crowd to meet the bank staff to submit my number. I quickly ran out ooo after filling the form she gave me. Yes ooo I had to rush out before they poured their frustration on me hahahahahaha.

Well for the benefit of those who don't know what BVN is, bank verification number is a step taken  by the central bank of Nigeria to strengthen the security of banking transactions and to ensure that fraudulent transactions are minimized.

It uses biometric technology to register customers in the financial system. The biometric is very helpful to people who cannot read or write as pictures and finger prints would serve the same purpose as signatures. The BVN will help the banking system reduce situations where loan defaulters  patronize more than one bank to obtain loan and their history would be easily known. Culled from vanguard.

CELEBRATING THE MAN CALLED FATHER

 On Sunday 22nd June 2015, the world celebrated father's day with a lot of people projecting their fathers or father representatives.Some did not either because of the bad experiences they have had with their fathers or maybe they just want to be silent about it.

I called a couple of clients and wished them a happy father's day and some were like "ohh am still single oo"and am like "you are a father in the making na" lol anyways, what makes people call a male figure a father or daddy? Some have said some men are just fathers but not daddies. so my dearest visitors, would this statement be accepted as a proven fact? Oya gist us your opinion.

A father as defined by wikipedia is a male figure who provides protection, structure, vision and purpose in a family. You see, if i am to meet some folks to describe their fathers under these qualities, i guess a lot would be said. To better elaborate on this issue, here are a few quotes:

Holla everyone!!!! woaaaaa it being a cold Saturday over here but i have something sizzling hot to keep you warm and its on ENVY.

In every environment we find ourselves: offices, markets, neighborhood, churches, mosques, schools etc, people unconsciously exhibit this trait and by the time they realize it, the seed which has being fed fat by anger, jealousy and hatred has become a giant killer.

How do you explain the attitude being displayed by one colleague over another who got promoted to a higher level than them or the unnecessary strife amongst a group of marketers because one of them was able to meet his or her targets as against the other? 

A pastor in his sermon said, envy is the displeasure you feel at the success of another. A quote on line described envy as a feeling of grudging or somewhat admiring discontent aroused by the possessions, achievements or qualities of another.

Charley Reese in analysing envy said it is never wise to seek or wish for another's misfortune. if malice or envy were tangible and had a shape, it would be the shape of a boomerang.

So why do we envy?
Some say it is a natural desire we all have while others say it is because of selfishness and the triggering of negative emotions but what do you think is the reason why we envy?

As you ponder on this and drop your comments at the end of this section, i like to quickly give a few hints on how to deal with envy.
1. we must deal with it early before it gets fully blown by deliberately choosing to do the opposite of what envy demands and using a positive thought to fight a negative thought.

Holla ladies, how are you today? Well I have something new today for you. It's differentiating between the fake man and the one who is ready to put a ring on it. So let's get started.

A lot of single ladies encounter men who they either lust after or have a great crush on and before you know it, a relationship has developed. Down the line , these ladies begin to ask if this guy is ready to settle down or he is just for fun especially when age is not in favour with these ladies.

The answer to these questions lies on a lot of factors I would be highlighting later on but I would like to add that you as a lady need to be smart and set him up to know if he sees you as fun  or a side chick or main chick.

8. He lies a lot about so many things and tells you the reasons he is not picking your calls or responding to your chats is because he is busy. Babes like really ! Please don't fall for that lie. When a man is serious with you and he loves you, he squeezes time out of no time to just hear your voice so please cut me the crap of him telling you he is busy.
9. He tells you not to visit his house without prior notice or you would be judged as barging into him. Abeg oooo barge into him so you see that you may not be the only chick in his life. Players would always want you to pre-inform them so they act up when you are around. Mind you he may also tell you not to call at a certain time . Pls call before you get a heart break jor. Anyways lets see the opposite of the guy who wants to settle down with you .

1. He talks about the future with you without hesitation.
2. He tells you some of his favorite things about you that are unique and plans a trip with you for next year.
3. He wants to hang out with you on a Sunday afternoon and wants you to meet his parents and friends and introduce yours to him.
4. He shares his password with you and remembers all the little details about you and your life.
5. He feels comfortable talking about a bad day or what is on his mind to you .
6. He loves to spend time with you no matter how busy he is and tells his friends about you and his plans for you.
7. He calls you his girl friend without giving it a second thought and gives you accesss to his life without hesistation.
8. He does not give you time jurisdiction to visit or call him. You have a spare key to his apartment and he loves to hear your voice.
9. He keeps texting or calling you during working hours to check on you and finds every little opportunity to show to you he loves you. He buys gifts , spoils you in a little way.
10. When you guys quarrel, it's for a stronger bond and not to excuse his weakness and looks for ways to make you better than he met you .
There are so many other things I would have included but for want of time, I like stop here and encourage ladies to be wise as serpents because Everyman you meet on the street is 5 times smarter than you. So wise up ladies. Am out.

I stumbled across a YouTube video about a rare genetic dis order called Progeria. For the purpose of this page, I would explain it in the best possible way so that a lame man especially from this side of the world called Nigeria would not tag anyone born with this rare disorder as a witch or wizard.

Hutchinson- Gildford syndrome also known as Progeria is a rare genetic condition that causes a child's body to age fast or grow old quickly. Most kids with Progeria do not live past the age of 13. The disease affects both sexes and all races equally.  It is not inherited or passed down in families. It has no cure but some treatments can help delay some symptons such as drinking of plenty water  especially when a progeria child is sick or hot. Physical and occupational therapy helps to keep their stiff joints moving.

Kids with progeria look healthy when they are born but start showing signs of the disease during their  first year. They do not grow or gain weight normally. Progeria does not affect a child's intelligence or brain development at all.

Health problems/ strokes are eventual causes of death in most children with progeria.

Traits of progeria syndrome includes a bigger head, large eyes, small lower jaw, beaked nose, incomplete closure of the eye lids, hair loss including eyelashes and eye brows, thinning, spotty and wrinkled skin, visible veins and high pitched voice.

While the health issues includes delayed or abnormal tooth formation, fragile bones, some hearing loss, stiff joints, hip dislocation and insulin resistance.  Source ( mayo clinic and web MD).

Hmmmm while we pray none of us experience this syndrome through a family member or offspring, let's be sensitive and be ahead of our game if we find any child experiencing this syndrome.

Whenever you see a group of ladies gisting , married or single, 85% of what they are talking about is their man. Yea yea " roll eyes". Such gists ranges from how he did this and that, his caring attitude, his bad side and many others. Babes! Most of us forget that there are no perfect man out there. God created every man uniquely and it's the diversity in human that makes the world interesting. You cannot have all the qualities you desire in a man. He might be caring but is a dirty man or an organized guy but a nag, a romantic man but a dead womanizer. So whatever he is, no one is perfect.

If you can tolerate his weakness, you can entertain it. Don't always believe the lies ladies tell you about theirs. NEIGHBORS

 Who is your Neighbor and how many of us are neighbors to others?

You see when Jesus was asked this question, he replied with the story of the Good Samaritan. A little help or assistance to another in need without the intension of being paid back makes you a good neighbor.

I have encountered people with beautiful hearts in times am in need or when they are helping someone else, watching how they go out of their ways to help another. Mind you not everyone you Intend to help are genuine as some who had helped people have gotten their fingers burnt. Mmm but dear friends being burnt while helping a needing person should not hold you back from helping . Keep at being good and in due season you shall be rewarded if you faint not.

I have being down with malaria since morning not having strength to help myself. A beautiful heart came along when i called and helped me out. It was such a touching moment for me. So I dedicate this post to My dear sister Nanfang who drove to my place and took me to see a doctor. Your help saved my life. Thank you .

Dear friends be a good neighbor no matter your past experiences for you might just be saving a life. Enjoy your weekend. Mua.

It's a new dawn

As Nigerians rejoice in the swearing in of the new president, I like to congratulate our new President and his vice on their new journey and to let them know that we Nigerians are believing the Lord would use them to cause the change we have all clamoured for. We are not asking for much but that the basic amenities and necessities of life be provided for us the citizens of Nigeria.

A lot has happened prior to and after the elections and we believe God was in it all through. Jubilation is still on going in my area and I just benefited from the swearing in. "Shines teeth."  I bought something from an aboki and he sold it so cheap because according to him, he is very happy with the way things are going. Let this unity continue to reign amongst us and we believe Nigeria would be a better nation.

The proverbial saying that a patient dog eats the fattest bone has come to play in the life of our president. So we are praying that the lord would strengthen him and his cabinets for the great task ahead. Amen.

One nation bound in freedom , peace and unity is the last stanza of our national anthem and am using this avenue to encourage all not to give up in our dear country Nigeria but to keep praying for its leaders and citizens. So help us God. Happy democracy day everyone .

POT OF THOUGHTS

Imagine you are writing your own obituary or given an opportunity to write about your life, what will you say? When you look back on your life , on people you have known, on things you have done, what picture would you see? Hmmmm I bet a lot of us would be unhappy about the kinds of decisions we took based on our thoughts.

Momoh K said our thoughts are like placing an order in the restuarant, of course you would be served soonest. What thoughts do you carry with you when faced with situations?  Do you perceive you are a victim of bad luck and the only breaks you get are bad breaks, maybe you wish for once that you could take control of your life. If so, you aren't the only person who feels that way. But, you have the freedom to choose how you will respond to the circumstances.

Viktor Frankl adviced that everyone is valuable and life can be meaningful no matter how improvised it seems. It is not what you do that matters but how you do it.


Let's be so conscious of our thoughts as  the universe would always respond to how you think. So think right. Be in charge of your thought pattern and see things working for your favour.

CHILDREN OF YESTERDAY

I remember those days as children when we look forward to being our best in school uniforms, heading towards the stadium after practicing for weeks on how to march and salute the governor. The excitement of meeting old friends in other schools, showing off your parade uniforms, the anticipation of being called out as the winner amongst other schools and taking the grand prize. The freedom of experiencing the scourging sun and moving around without anyone baby sitting you to move and not move around. Lol. (Bell ringer's routine) and of course the joy of not bothering on so many other things has kind of fizzled out.

Can you remember how we used to play eten or ten ten , suwey, kicking seed, game box, mopol, fake cooking with grass on small tin tomatoes cup, children playing together in a big field, reading and spelling competition  and many other interesting games. Oh! How I miss those days .

Today, the fun of childhood have being replaced by fenced compounds, computer games, DSTV e.t.c. Sighs!😔 children don't catch fun again.


Well, I know the children of these days cannot understand what I am talking about but can only imagine it. Being an adult does not change the fact that I was once a child. Children now fend for themselves and don't play anymore.

Despite all the changes out there, I want wish everyone who was once a child and the children of today. happy children's day. Please give your child a treat and make them feel special. E hugs. Shines teeth.

CAUTION LADIES

 Gone were the days when scammers /419ners pick you along the road and start blabing about a bag filled with money that needs special prayers before it can be used, to 419ners now building a syndicate to scam a very financial comfortable lady in order to rip her off her wealth. They have grown to the level of now pretending to be in love with these ladies , get them pregnant, marry them and when they are done with you, they leave you penniless. Yes! You heard me right, they fake love around a lady to scam her.


Now this is reality. I had a conversation with an unfortunate lady who was a bank manager now turned caterer that fell for a fraudster.

I would call her Vivian. She was a successful wealthy single lady in her 30s believing God for a life partner when she fell into the hands of a 419ner. They met at a restuarant and one thing led to another they became intimate. This man made her grant a loan through her bank for a business which he advised should be a joint venture business.

From her story, she can't explain how that money was spent by the man. He told her he was ready to settle down in less than 4 months and proved his seriousness by first going for registry. She got pregnant while planning for their traditional wedding.

A month into their relationship, he took her to his village down the eastern part of nigeria and showed her to his family which of course shows a man who was into her. This and the whole wedding plans and ceremony happened in a space of 4 months.

Now the summary of this story is that she lost her job when the loan could not be repaid, had a son for him, lost the business they both started as he squandered the money, she was reduced to penury and relocated back to another state where she started afresh learning cakes and decor to meet up, discovered through a family member that loved her that the family he showed her where his syndicate of which his mother was a part, he was never a doctor as he made her believe , there are other ladies he has done same with and made them have a child for him while recking them to penury and above all he was a diabolical person.


This lady was so heart broken and  frustrated, that it took the grace of God for her to be standing today. So dear ladies in as much you want to settle down, don't allow desperation make you fall in the hands of wrong men. None  shall lack her mate so says the holy book . Be prayerful and be happy with your self. Just be careful. E hugs to you.

Yeaaaa good morning and welcome to a new week. I believe it is fresh and a lot would be achieved if we set our minds to it. Now I have one gist for you.

Somewhere in town is this block of flat converted to one bedroom and room self contain . If you stay in Abuja you would understand the issue of housing is not a thing of joke because houses in Abuja are damn expensive. So I have some neighbors who are always at home and even when they go to work (of course late) they arrive early ; of course it's none of my business how they live their lives but it becomes my issue when I am made to contribute for PHCN prepaid card every two weeks because of the way the meter runs and your humble sister is hardly at home as my job requires me to leave early and come back late.

They decided to disconnect me after I refused to pay light bill when

our last recharge was barely two weeks and make me sleep in darkness. This led to a lot of argument, in d process I tell them say If na Delta or Edo state this issue happen wey them make me sleep darkness while dem sleep  with light, them for scatter the meter make everyone dey darkness but as a civilized babe I report the case to nepa and pay for my own meter .


I discussed this issue with some friends and one of them made me laugh. She said " if nA me I go make sure say that meter come down and if anyone try to stop me, I go break e head then by the next day I go return back to being matured. Lmao babes no wan hear. Abeg Wetin be una opinion oo for this matter?

Yes am back and this next question is to men . Please men Wetin una see for ikebe ( buttocks)? Please it's not funny at all ooo. I need sincere answer from men.

My girl friend and I went strolling one evening and to be modest in my description , she is heavily endowed front and back ( arsenal and Barcelona kind of packaging ) we kept getting stops from men because of her. Now she requested I put this in my blog to get the opinion of men. So over to you guys."winks".

Now my office is made up of funny sets of human beings and we hardly have a dull moment if we are not being consumed by work. Now this lady whose fiancé was celebrating his birthday decided to make it low key thing. It was just for two. So the next day I asked her how was the surprise party she organized and she responded by saying she only bought cake and drinks. Then I was "ohh you had a cocktail party for two then" . Her next response cracked me up . She said no! It was not a cocktail party but a cock and balls things all night  and it was good. Lmao oh my God the babe no wan hear ooo.

...so this guy in my office was sharing a strange mixture in a container with other collegues in the office when another collegue came with a cup requesting for his own share but asked what exactly the mixture was. He was told its a mixture of trouser adjusting effect and everyone in the office burst into laughter. He quickly dropped his cup and brought a bigger cup. Another guy laughed and said this is how you know a guy with small mallams , the bigger the cup , the smaller the mallam. Lol .

By the time he tasted the drink, he discovered it was coca cola . Looolll. Oh my God nothing we no go hear. Abeg my people, don't accept a drink with the inscription "share a coke with mallam because it means something else to some people oooo.

Heart Cries 1

I heard of this phrase that unforgiveness is like a prison whose occupant after letting go was you.
I am discussing on this because at every point in our lives, we have being hurt by a friend, family or loved one and some times the depth of the hurt is so deep we hardly let go.

I have heard and met people who had being hurt and have refused to let go and seriously folks whether we believe it or not, if we don't let go of our hurts, we are stunting our growth. A lot of married couples are childless due to unforgiveness others have lost opportunities while some others have vowed never to go into what led to the hurt .

Well, what ever be the reason for the hurt, let go. Yea you heard me right ! Let go. Nothing dey dis life ooo. If you die now every thing don finish . Sweet heart life it's self is a risk. That you were born was a risk; so don't be afraid to love again, or apply for that job or go into business partnership or be married again. Give your self a second chance and try again. Take that step of faith and see restoration come your way. Happy Sunday.

Yes am back to the issue of discuss I earlier posted. Now why do men especially matured ones say "if I waited this long to be married, I would patiently wait for the perfect woman! I have heard quite a number of guys say that to me especially when our conversations dived into relationship talks. But like I always tell them, dont be too choosey and end up marrying the wrong person for you. Be the right man and have the right mind set and that special lady would be there waiting for you. Now I wont tongue lash men only without saying one or two things about the ladies. Babes!!! we have to brace up and be that wife material. Maybe you are currently two yards of wife material abeg increase am to 10 yards. Loolll. Dont mind me jare. But on a serious note we need to work on our selves first before praying for Mr Right. Lets stop giving men opportunity to leave us to the younger generation of ladies cos older ladies are not smiling ooo. But in all let God be your number one start point.
